The VanSchaick-Breedlove-Weaver-Proudfoot Legacy

Welcome graphic

Anatomy of a Real American Family:

I have only recently discovered my Heritage; a truly "American Heritage;" from my research I have found that I have the Bloodlines of Royalty (Weaver) from most of Ancient Europe; My Dutch Ancestors (VanSchaick) settled New Amsterdam, New Netherlands (New York City) in the 1600's, and were foremost to settle the East Coast and then Pioneered Westward to cover the United States; Other Ancestors (Breedloves) left England and settled in British Colony Virginia in the 1600's. Even other Ancestors (Scotts) were here even before the first Colonist's; They were Cherokee Indians who were among the Original Americans. They saw the first Immigrants come to the New World.
Some even saw it differently; they saw it from the eyes of Bondage; they were Slaves who wanted the Freedom of the young US colonys so badly they escaped the Oppression of their Masters and joined the Cherokee Tribes. Such marriages were considered "Good Medicine" among the Tribes the Runaways they settled in; one of my Great-Grandmothers was the Daughter of one of these marriages.
In the future I will be adding some History of my Wife's Family in a linked website; she has a Family Tree as richly colored as my own, I have traced one of her family lines back almost 40 Generations; which also includes considerable Nobility.

On this page I'll provide a little information about who I am and what inspired me to do this research. Most of this information was probably obtained from talking to living relatives and from researching public records. In the course of doing this research, I've discovered that I have many more relatives than I ever thought possible!

This is a work in progress, so please contact me if you have any information that might help round out the picture.
